GF FSC is Finalist for $5000 Pepsi Grant!
During the month of September, 20011 our club worked diligently to gain votes to qualify us for a $5000 Pepsi Refresh grant.  Pepsi provides numerous grants throughout the year at various dollar amounts for organizations and groups who submit proposals for improvements to their community.  Our proposed project was set up to help area kids and families learn to ice skate.  Goals of our project included increasing club awareness and club membership and offering affordable programs where everyone could enjoy all the fun and benefits of ice skating. 

At the end of the voting period, on September 30, we had to be in the top 20 in our category, and we managed to qualify by ranking #20.  We have since submitted our grant acceptance package and are currently awaiting official confirmation that we will be a grant recipient.  Final recipients will be announced on October 23rd. 

This grant will be a huge boost to our club and go a long way toward paying our ice and marketing expenses while helping to increase membership and club activities.  We are extremely excited about the grant! 

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who helped out by voting, getting friends and family to vote, and collecting bottle caps worth additional voting points.  We would also like to thank members of the local media who helped us spread the word about our project, including The Post Star and LookTV.
