Skating Quilt Raffle
Congratulations to Carolyn Bailey who won this beautiful quilt for her daughter Meghan!  This queen-sized quilt was lovingly hand made by Michelle Capron. It features 475 blocks of fabric and a double border. Alternating blocks each feature a different skating image. The blue swirled fabric has hints of sparkles and snowflakes in it, reminiscent of a skater's costume flowing around the frosty ice. The light blue fabric represents the ice itself. The turquoise, pink and lavender fabrics feature loops and hearts, representing patterns made on the ice. Several of the quilting stitches were done in designs to represent loops, turns and bracket patterns made on the ice by a skater, as well as hearts, which represent a skater's love for the sport.
